THE VENUES

Churchill Downs

The venues would be divided into five zones for the Olympics: Fairgrounds, Central, Waterfront, Eastern, and Outside Louisville. All Paralympic events would be held in the Fairgrounds Zone except for Archery, Cycling, Equestrian, Rowing, Sailing, and Wheelchair Basketball. Two new arenas and a new stadium would be constructed in the Kentucky Exposition Center, while a new Velodrome would be constructed east of Downtown Louisville. Ralph Wright Natatorium on the campus of the University of Louisville would be expanded from 800 to 18,000 seats.

Where will athletes stay?
An Athletes' Village would be constructed on or near the University of Louisville Belknap Campus. Existing on-campus housing will also be used during the Olympics.

Various park and ride sites would be setup across Jefferson, Bullitt, Henry, Oldham, Shelby, and Spencer Counties in Kentucky, and Clark and Floyd Counties in Indiana.
